Help Give Our Iranian Brother Hamid a Dignified Burial, Urgent Appeal

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we share the sudden passing of our beloved Brother Hamid (aged 56), a Kurdish brother originally from Iran, who was found alone at his residence in Birmingham. He had no family in the United Kingdom. No loved ones by his side. No one to hold his hand in his final moments. No family to carry him, to pray his Janazah, or to gently lower him into his grave.

Brother Hamid came to the UK in 2013 with one purpose — to support his family back home. Like many who leave their homeland, he carried the weight of responsibility on his shoulders. He lived quietly, worked tirelessly, and sacrificed comfort, companionship, and years of his life so his loved ones could live with dignity. He asked for little, yet gave everything.

During the COVID period, he suffered the heartbreaking loss of both of his elderly parents. He carried this grief alone, silently, far away from home — yet he continued working, continued sending support, and continued fulfilling his duty to his family.

Today, he leaves behind a devastated wife, two young sons, three younger brothers, and a younger sister. They are thousands of miles away, shattered by the news. Their hearts are broken. Their only wish was to see him one last time… to kiss his forehead… to pray over him… to say goodbye.

The family had hoped to bring their beloved back to his homeland. But due to the current situation and war affecting the region, they have no choice but to accept his burial here in the UK — far away from his home, his people, and his loved ones.

Imagine leaving your homeland to provide for your family…
Living years in loneliness…
Carrying grief silently…
And then returning to Allah with no family by your side.

This is our test as a community.

We humbly appeal to everyone to come together and give our Kurdish brother the dignity he deserves. We are raising £2,275 to cover burial costs only.
